January Competition

The January Competition was held over 4th, 5th and 6th. The wind kept the deep sea fisherman from going any further than the carpark at Boat Harbour on Saturday, but Sunday was much better and a few boats headed out early and caught a few flathead. Rob Mace headed down the coast and caught a couple of Groper around the 4 to 5kg mark, but very little else. Vince Stalgis was the only one to bag one of those elusive Reddies and Hock had a nice Dusky Flathead which leads me to think he may have been fishing in the hole out Gerroa way. The weigh in was at The Surf Club for the Captain Christie swim so nearly all the fish were donated for the auction and we raised $410 which was donated to The Surf Club. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day and a special mention goes to Col Mulholland – if anyone has a big Groper they would like to have scaled, just see Col, he will be happy to help and he does a pretty good job too!
