Publicity Officer’s Report
Well, what a weekend! March has come in with some great fish and it has been a while since a weigh in like this. The rocks fished well for those who fished them. Mitch C (not Cronin) getting a mixed bag that any fisherman would be proud of and Rob (the golden arch) Mace, baggin’ out on Snapper (10 fold), Groper and some “small” Tailor – his signature fish which is worth $40 for the biggest one this month. The March competition was held on 8th, 9th and 10th. We had a lot of fisho’s get out and wet a line for this competition and our junior members are having a great year, with a few weighing in again this month. It is going to be a good competition with the juniors this year, hope they all keep the good work up. Our Master Chefs were at it again; John on the Barbie, The Pringa cooked up a delicious dish plus rice and Jason cooked his famous Green Groper Curry. The South Coast Fishing Club’s Beach Competition was held on the 23rd and 24th February at the Berry Bowling Club. We had about 9 of our members take part in this competition. They are our really keen fisherman as the weather conditions were not the best, with rain and wind. It was also great to see our juniors back to defend their title from last year and guess what?………. that is what they did. Well done boys! The February Competition was held on Saturday the 9th and this was the annual Pub V’s Club competition. Once again we had a good turnout of junior members, it is great to see them out there fishing, and then weighing in their catches. The best catch of the day by far was Mitchell Cartwright’s huge haul of fish with some really nice Whiting. Our presentation night was held on the 2nd of February 2013 at the Gerroa Boat Fisherman’s Club. It was great to see an awesome turnout on the night and I’m sure everyone enjoyed catching up and telling the stories about the one that got away. Congratulations to all the winners for 2012 and hope you are out there defending your title for this year. Presentation Night
Please note: The presentation night will now be on Saturday 2nd February 2013 at Gerroa Fishos from 5:30pm. Tickets are on sale at Dick Payne Real Estate and are $5 an adult and kids are free. Entry includes a lucky door prize and goes towards the room hire. Everyone is ordering their own food at 6:00pm.

The South Coast Fishing Club’s annual presentation night was held on Saturday 11th of August at the Berry Bowling Club. It was a great turn out with many local clubs attending the night. Yet another great weekend for fishing, this May Comp was a Pairs Comp. Plenty of pairs fished, for some great catches and some no catches. The seas rose to the occasion and kept all boats to the river with not much success there. What a great weekend to have the Derek Wishart Memorial fishing comp. The fishing was hard for some and easier for others, some huge efforts were put in by a lot of anglers, some of the spots I fished were so secret the fish didn’t know about it.
